2006 JUNIOR TEAM CANADA
The Canadian Ball Hockey Association has announced its roster for the World Championships to be held in Turin, Italy, in June 2006. Twenty-four players have been selected and into these players' hands will fall the responsibility of recapturing the World Championship that Canada won in dramatic fashion over the Czech Republic in 2000. General Manager, Mauro Cugini, was pleased with the composition of the club. "Our extensive scouting and analysis, brought to light the fact that we had to upgrade our back-line and add some size without affecting Canada's speed and skill". He continued, "this may be our most athletic club and like most championship teams, we have built this team with strong goaltending and a versatile defence". I can truly say that our overall make-up will be stronger and I believe we have gotten more skilled and faster than our previous teams". Assistant Coach Ian Moores - head coach of 2003 CBHA Junior National Champions Assistant Coach Rein Tonowski - coach of the 2004 & 2005 CBHA Junior National Champions Team Doctor Dr. Jason Su - specializing in sports medicine, team doctor for both 2000 Junior and 2001 Senior Team Canada programs. Registered Massage Therapist Marta Dos Santos - specializing in sports massage, athletic injuries and remedial exercises for rehabilitation, team therapist for both Junior and Senior Team Canada programs.
