Anthony Muia
1955-2006

JUNE 14 06 - This day will live on as a sad one for our sport. The game lost one of its best friends and supporters. Anthony Muia, a long time player, coach, team manager, uniform supplier, and sponsor, succumbed to heart failure after a 9 day battle in the hospital.

Anthony was the Sport City, which we so proudly display on our website. In his heart he was Ball Hockey City though. I could write for days listing his accomplishments and contributions to this game of ours. His greatest was his friendship that he offered every young player that played in Greater Toronto Minor Ball Hockey Association, that we built together, but he and his wife tended to every night at the arena. The friendship that he offered every team that needed a new set of jerseys made just the right way. The friendship he displayed whenever we ran to him with a last second order for t-shirts, or hats, or whatever an event needed, and he would set aside all else to help ball hockey. The friendship he extended players of Team Canada and Team Italia that he assisted at various World Championships, and took time off work to attend in moral support, in addition to the countless late hours he spent preparing their team wear, often much of it donated. I could go on and on, and he deserves every bit of praise. This game would be a whole lot less than it is, if Anthony never came along, and my life the same.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, wife Dorothy, and children Andrea and Anthony jr. Rest in peace our good friend.
