Men’s ‘B’ participation in the OBHA has become one of the most popular and enjoyably competitive venues in recent years due in large part to the number, diversity and range in the ages of the players at that level in recent years. This years event was no exception as 10 teams throughout the province went to Waterloo to compete in the 2008 Men’s ‘B’ Provincial Qualifier.
OBHA Crowns Third Team Advancing to the Eastern C Regionals
Written by AdministratorEstablished in 1989, the Eastern Canada (NF, NS, NB, PEI, QC, ON) Regional Championships are contested by teams who participate in levels below the elite level ('A') in their provinces. Teams are designated into 'B' and 'C' skill levels based on competitive provincial designation. Last weekend the OBHA punched the last qualifying teams ticket to the dance Eastern C Regional.
The Women’s Pre Season Tournament was the largest event in the association’s history as twenty teams competed for the championship at the ‘A’ and ‘B’ level of competition over this past weekend in Mississauga. There was very little separating all the teams as this was the most balanced tournament in years and it was any team’s tournament to win.
The event was hosted in the City of Mississauga, April 23 & 24, and was indeed a showcase for all the competing players and teams and the host the Ontario Ball Hockey Association. Twenty-eight boys competing in three levels of play and ten girls teams from across the province competed hard as the OBHA Crowned Highschool Champions!

CBHA name twenty three Ontario players to Junior U16 & U18 Team Canada
Written by AdministratorThe Canadian Ball Hockey Association recently announced its roster for the inaugural U16 & U18 World Championships to be held in Zvolen, Slovakia in June 2008. Twenty-two players have been selected for each team and into these players' hands will fall the responsibility of capturing the World Championship.
"Build it and they will come!" Downsview Park did just that on Saturday, February 9, 2008 as they constructed sixteen temporary rinks on the park grounds to facilitate the largest event to date with one hundred and eight teams participating in support of Shoot For A Cure. The one-day winter festival included various activities, such as a silent auction, music and the day was highlighted with the celebrity challenge ball hockey game which had many NHL Alumni participating including Gary Leeman, Steve Thomas, Bill Derlago, and Ron Ellis.
