The Norstar Prevail Over the Stampede in Overtime
Written by AdministratorThe London Norstar and Oshawa Stampede would play two very different games as they would share countless opportunities in the first period led by Andrea Walters of the Norstar who had one goal and one assist in the first period and Oshawa captain, Tracey Kitchen would add two goals as the first period would end in a 3 to 3 tie.
This was not be an easy road, but there was nothing sweeter than going into the Czech Republic and winning gold. This team we will not be denied. They prepared for this moment. The staff had prepared for this moment. This collection of players and staff together with only one goal in mind, GOLD it is what they played for and it is what they won. WE ARE CANADA!
The Rebels travelled east and posted a record of 4-0-1 to capture the B Provincial Qualifier as the team showed the finesse and speed required to win the tournament.
The Garage Guys are the 2012 C Provincial Qualifier Champions. The old guys showed they still have some savy and grit left in them and finally found their match in the form of the C Qualifier Gold.
There was very little seperating the teams after round robin play at the Summer Classic hosted in Midland, Ontario.
They came with their hard hats and when the championship was over the Garage Guys showed to be the class of the North American Eastern Regional Qualifier.
The Mississauga Hawks posted a record of 4-1 record en route to the Championship in Oshawa. The clubs defensive game plan of shutting down the middle of the floor and pressing the oppositions defence was the key throughout the tournament.
There was very little seperating the teams at this years Mens D Provincial Qualifier as witnessed by various teams tied with points after the preliminary round games.
If this was the preview for the Provincial Championships later this year, we will indeed be in for a treat as the level of competition was simply wonderful. At this years tourney, there was very little separating all the teams as this was the most balanced tournament in years and it was any teams tournament to win.

Provincial level athletes qualify through a selection process conducted by provincial sport organizations.
