For the first time ever hundreds of GTHL REP teams and thousands of players, parents and fans kicked off the season at one weekend and the OBHA provided the portable rink and information booth for the kids to enjoy during the FANFEST.

The OBHA Provincial Championships: It’s GAME TIME!

The experiences that one has throughout their life often out number the successes that they achieve. That is why each year, teams continue to endure and strive for that elusive prize in their respective division of play at the Ontario Ball Hockey Association Provincial Championships in August.

The Niagara United are the 2011 Men's B Provincial Qualifier Tournament Champions and may have sent notice that the Provincial title may have to go through this them in a few weeks in London.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge made some time in their visit to Yellowknife to play street hockey with a group of local youth.

In 2001, 10 years ago this weekend the Beeton AA Tyke team captured the Provincial Championship in Tomken Twin Pads and just this past weekend the nucleus of that team competed at the Junior AA event again in Mississauga and at the same facility and guess what? they captured the championship title 3-1.

The games of the 2011 World Championships will be web broadcasted on www.huste.tv and for Ontario you are reminded that there is a six hours time difference from the host Bratislava, Slovakia. The tournament runs from June 19-26.

The future is now. On Wednesday, June 22 the OBHA will continue to showcase the wonderful young athletes as we host three youth exhibition games.

The Burlington Stars are the 2011 Men’s C Provincial Qualifier Tournament Champions. The ‘old guys’ showed they still have some savy and grit left in them.

The Masters division of play, home to many former great players who once played at the elite level in the OBHA, has produced some of the most competitive and exciting ball hockey in recent years.
