Leominister, MA - The Rams of Leominster edged the Toronto Leafs 5-4 in sudden victory overtime. The game was one of the best Street Hockey match ups in years.

The Leafs are a travelling team from Ontario who play a slick passing, quick shooting style of play that dominated their opposition until the final. The Leafs racked up impressive playoff wins with back to back quarter and semi final wins beating the Twin City Coyotes and the Boston Stars by the same 7-2 score. The Rams shutout the Seahawks 3-0, then came from behind in the semi's versus the Jets to win 4-3 in OT.

With the Rams defending the Can Am Championship on the line, Bobby Housser would get his team on track in the first stealing the ball & scoring shorthanded. The Leafs outshot the Rams 8-4, and just thirty seconds into the second Tony Monteiro took a feed from Chris Morrison Jr. to tie the game. Midway through the period Morrison better know as “Magic” started putting on a show beating two Rams and then scored on netminder Rick Breau to take a 2-1 lead.

The Leafs domination continued  with Tony Talevski scoring a power play goal with Franco Andreacchi and Ivano Conte assisting.   At this point the Leafs had outshot the Rams 12-5 when something happened and the Rams seem to change gears, and fifty three seconds into the third closed the gap as Josh McKenna scored from Brian Reynolds. The Leafs were up 4-2 with only 3:17 left in the game notching a power play goal, Morrison making a pass to Andreacchi, Tabas on the second assist. The game looked over and the Rams twenty-nine game win streak  over until Housser struck at 1:39 with  Steve Kendall assisting. Housser stunned the Leafs nineteen seconds later with an unassisted marker to equal the score at four sending  the game into sudden victory overtime.

The Rams were outshot 6-5 in the third period, and the stage was set for more action, the Rams pressured with eight shots in overtime period and the last one found its mark. A faceoff deep in the Leafs zone won by Rams Dante Suarez over to Bobby Housser who got free from his check then deked around  Vince Sozio for the game winner and his fourth goal of the game. Bobby Housser was voted the tournament most valuable player finished with 6 goals and 6 assists, Leafs Marc Parravano, Most Valuable Defenceman, Rams Rick Breau posted four shutouts & made twenty three saves in the final was named Most Valuable Golatender. Leafs JIm Tabas (7G & 8A) & Chris Morrison (5G & 10A) were the tournament leading scorers each with 15 points.
