TORONTO, ON -  The Canadian Ball Hockey Association announced that a second canadian team entry is preparing to compete for gold in the upcoming inaugural ISBHF World Master Mens Championship being hosted November 11-14, 2010 in the city of Bratislava, Slovakia.

“We are thrilled to be invited to this world event to compete with other countries and be part of the first world championship for the Masters age group.  When the tournament turned to Canada for another team to compete in the tournament we got the call and we’re thrilled,” said Bill Houston, President of the Beeton Men’s League and captain of the Beeton Xtreme Masters team which won the Ontario Provincials in 2009.  “We have been able to get a solid commitment from our core players and have made player roster additions from Penetang, Oshawa and Withrow Park as well as an additional goalie from Alberta. It is our goal to compete hard and enjoy the experience.  We want to be able to come back to Canada and know that we prepared well for the tournament and gave ourselves the best position to compete,” added Houston.

Team General Manager, Gary Slavin who has experience with the Junior Team Canada program in both coaching and managing over the last 3 years has been a great addition to the team with travel preparations and team communication. "I am thrilled to join the Xtreme team as General Manager, with two world tournament experiences I look forward at achieving a memorable experience for the players with what we have planned on and off the floor." Slavin added, "Working with the players and staff for the past two months, I see the dedication and determination they have to compete at this event." The team is being coached by Greg St Amant of Penetang, who has International coaching experience with the 2010 U18 Junior Team Canada. St Amant is putting the team through a series of practices and team systems leading up to the tournament. "We have a great group of gentlemen that are working well on the floor and are coming together as a unit," commented St Amant.

The Beeton Xtreme, which will go as "Team Xtreme Canada" at the tournament, has in the last decade gradually become a force nationally in the CBHA with one of the strongest minor programs in the country and now with a strong Men’s and Master’s League it has produced competitive ball hockey players in all age groups. “We understand that we are not the official Team Canada but rest assured, even as a second canadian entry, when we play the other countries, we view ourselves as playing for Canada...after all...we are Canadians...and this is our game,”  said Carlo Carlucci, founder and President of the Beeton Minors League, now in its 14th year.

It is with great pleasure to announce the following individuals that will be representing Team Xtreme Canada at the 2010 Master Mens World Championships in Bratislava, Slovakia:
