TORONTO – The Junior U-20 Team Canada unveiled their championship rings on Saturday night at the Ontario Ball Hockey Association Awards Dinner and Banquet, Celebration of Excellence.

Fifteen members of the team and staff were in attendance receiving their rings during the evenings proceedings.

Once General Manager, Mauro Cugini was presented with his championship ring, team captain Evan Culbert led followed by the team members and staff in attendance.

This was the first back-to-back win for any nation and Canada remains the only multiple gold medal winner with its total now raised to three.

Destiny didn’t decide if this could win.... THEY DID!

The tournament and championship will be frozen in time, but the memories and friendships this group has made will last a lifetime.

THE TEAM LEFT NO DOUBT…..THIS WAS THEIR TIME!!!

The cost of each ring was not divulged, but the effort that went into designing and creating them suggests that its exorbitant value could probably eclipse any before it.

Junior Team Canada was commemorating the nations 3rd World U-20 Junior Championship with a ring that has a few touches that have never before been seen on a ball hockey championship ring. The uniqueness of it has to do with the following:

1)    CBHA Leaf and Player over a silhouette of the actual CHAMPIONSHIP CUP
2)    The CUP – six small zirc stones inserted in the top of the CUP signifying the 6-0 undefeated record which had never been accomplished at the U-20 tournament
3)    24 mini zirc stones (one for each player)
4)    1 orange zirc stone - the BALL for the GM
5)    4 large stones down each side (represent the 8 staff members) with the 2010 for the year
6)    WORLD JUNIOR (across the top)
7)    CHAMPIONS (along the bottom)
8)    The host city, VILLACH (city and tournament logo with final score – the division U-20 is cut into the ring)
9)    The LAST NAMES appear above the player and # and position will be placed below the player (each # and position will be cut into the ring)

In addition to the ceremony, the OBHA recognized all of their award winners which can be found by clicking here
