Canadian Player Honoured as Junior Player of the Year

The International Street & Ball Hockey Federation (I.S.B.H.F.) Player of the Year is given annually to a junior (even numbered years) or male/female player (odd numbered years) who are the best in the world, based on votes by ISBHF directorate at the annual meetings.

 

Since the award's inception, a Canadian player has previously won the award in both the adult divisions, Alexandre Burrows (2005) and Caroline Bérubé (2009) and now Andrew Shaw has been awarded the 2010 Junior International Player of the Year.

Andrew Shaw is a dedicated, hardworking player who is a very positive leader. Well respected by his teammates as he was voted as one of the teams assistant captains for the World Championships.

This award culminates one of the best junior careers of all time for this member of the Ontario Ball Hockey Association who has been one of the most celebrated players throughout his distinguished career earning numerous All-star and Outstanding Player awards at the provincial and national level of competition. 

At the U20 tournament in Villach, Austria he was the top scorer and voted MVP Forward.
