Andrew Shaw who recently signed a contract with the Chicago Blackhawks was arguably the most offensively gifted scorer in the Ontario Ball Hockey Association Minor’s history and one of the most decorated minor athletes ever.

‘Shawzy’ as he is affectionately known to his friends played in the Belleville Minor Ball Hockey League leading his teams to many provincial championships as far back as the Tyke level of play and into the Junior ranks. Most recently in 2010 he was on the Junior U-20 team which captured gold and again he was awarded Top Scorer and Top Forward Awards in the tournament.

He has an incredible knack for the net and plays the game with grit. In ball and ice hockey he has great quickness and the ability to make plays while at top speed and whatever he may lack in size, he more than makes up for with his will to compete and pure ability.

We wish the young man continued success from everyone in Belle Vegas and across the Ontario Ball Hockey Association.
