GOLD MEDAL GAME: CAN 5 : 0 CZE
The biggest question on the Canadian side was how the team would replace its two most dominant forwards, and the top goaltender in the country, from the 2003 & 2005 WCs. NHL player Alex Burrows (Vancouver Canucks) has now retired from competitve street hockey to concentrate on his burgeoning hockey career, Benoit Gilbert was unable to attend, and veteran Michel Perodeau has retired from the national program.
From among the many that deserve mention, some of the more notable were goaltender Jen Price who carried the load and supplied 3 shutouts in 4 big games, team captain Lori Parker rock solid on defence, along with fellow blue-liner Britni Smith. Sue Brogno had 6 goals in 6 games, while Michelle Binning contributed 3 G and 3 A for her 6 points.
The event was hosted in the City of Mississauga, April 26 & 27, and was indeed a showcase for all the competing players and teams and the host the Ontario Ball Hockey Association. Twenty-six boys competing in two levels of play and eight girls teams from across the province competed hard as the OBHA Crowned Highschool Champions!

"Build it and they will come!" The City of Toronto did just that for the 2007 Street Buds Tournament this past weekend March 23-25 as they constructed four temporary rinks in the Canadian National Exhibition park grounds at the Better Living Centre. The three-day event played host to forty seven teams at five age groups culminating with the championship games.
